How this list is built
- What makes a solid flip?
- A real gap between what players pay at the cheap end and at the dear end of the market, on an item that sells every day. Both prices come from completed sales, and each has to show up on at least two days, so one spike, one dump or one buyer sweeping the market cannot create a flip. The price also has to swing back and forth, not climb or fall all week.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- From the commodity trade tape: every listing we saw sell in the last 7 days, and its price. Buy is the price the cheapest quarter of a day's units sold for, sell the price the dearest quarter sold for. Profit is the sell price minus the 5% auction house cut, minus the buy price. Gold a day is that profit on one in ten of the units sold a day: a yardstick, not a promise.
- What do buy zone and at the top mean?
- Where the current price sits in the week's range. Buy zone is the bottom quarter: a good moment to buy. At the top is the top quarter: sell what you hold, don't buy. Risky rows failed a check; they are listed apart so you can see why, not so you buy them.
- How often does this update?
- The list is rebuilt every hour from the last 7 days of sales, and the current price comes from the latest auction house snapshot. Only commodities are covered: per-realm items have no trade tape.
