Method
How this page knows what is new
- How do you know an item was added by this patch?
- Every game build stamps its own version into Blizzard's static API. When that stamp changes we pull the build's item table and record which item IDs had never existed before. That list is the patch's additions.
- Why are only some of them listed here?
- Most of what a patch adds is never tradeable — quest items, soulbound gear, spell effects. This board only shows the ones that have actually sold on an auction house, so the list filters itself.
- What do climbing, cooling and settled mean?
- They describe where an item sits on its own price curve: at or within 5% of its high, further below it, or unchanged for three days running. We compute them from the daily price series.
