FAQ
How movers work
- What do the 1h / 24h / 7d windows compare against?
- 1h compares the latest commodity snapshot to the one right before it — normally about an hour apart; if that gap ever grows too large we drop the comparison rather than mislabel it. 24h and 7d compare against that item's own most recent daily price-history value from 1 or 7 days back.
- What counts as a real move?
- A move has to clear a minimum change for its window, so ordinary noise doesn't count, and pass a plausibility check that filters out obviously mispriced spikes. It also has to be selling: over the last week, at least one unit a day or a liquidity score of 30 out of 100 — the same bar the deal feed uses. The liquidity score blends how much of what gets listed actually sells with how fast it sells. The tag on each row says how deep that market is.
- Why commodities only?
- Movers only covers commodities — reagents, food, potions and the like — which trade in one region-wide pool with a shared price history. Non-commodity gear and BoE items are realm-scoped and don't have that shared history to compare against.
- How often does this update?
- We look for a new commodity snapshot every 5 minutes; Blizzard publishes one about once an hour. The 24h and 7d baselines are daily rollups computed once a day, so those two windows move at most once per day even though the current price ticks more often.
